Students in Romania do not always benefit from a healthy and open learning environment. Many of them are victims of abuse by teachers, which leads to a lack of initiative for civic engagement and a low trust in the system and in themselves. The main cause is that students do not know their power, their rights, and that their voice matters.

This guide is a short form with the most important ideas from the Student Statute, the document approved by the Minister of Education, outlining the rights and responsibilities of students. The guides were distributed to students at the launch events of the project, where we openly discussed with the attendees about the abuse they face while at school.
